Our trip to the laundrette

The developing world is so much more colourful"

I flew from Bangkok to Chang Mai, the cultural heart of Thailand, to meet my younger brother Stuart, who I am travelling South East Asia with for six weeks. One of our first tasks was to get some laundry done and even this proved to be a “cultural” experience. We had to have it weighed and then return with a ticket the next day. It’s quite a strange feeling having a stranger wash your clothes for you but of course we soon made friends with her and a picture ensued on the back streets of Chang Mai.
